A benchtop band saw cuts curves, resaws thick boards and handles angled cuts that a table saw cannot. The things to check are throat width, maximum cutting height, motor size, how far the table tilts and the blade length each saw uses.

The six saws below range from a 7-1/2 inch model to a 10 inch saw on a stand. Figures come from each listing page and are the makers’ own. We have not used these saws ourselves. Read the manual before the first cut, and note that some listings mix wood and metal wording.
